Join San Mateo County Parks staff for a guided hike to honor the man who dedicated his life to others and dedicated his property to everyone!

#SamMcDonaldPark was named after Sam (Emanuel) McDonald, descendent of enslaved persons. From 1917 until his death in 1957, he acquired more than 400 acres which he bequeathed for public use and is now part of #SanMateoCountyParks.

On Feb 11, parks staff will lead a 4-mile guided hike to his former home, a two room cabin, which still stands today. Along the way learn more about the man and his legacy.
