Our Work

Beautiful San Mateo County is blessed with tremendous natural resources and outdoor recreation opportunities. However, unlike our neighboring counties, San Mateo County does not have a dedicated source of funding for park improvements or educational programs. That’s why the San Mateo County Parks Foundation was created in 1998: to provide funding for special projects and programs that enhance our parks while preserving native ecosystems.

Thanks to your generous contributions, the San Mateo County Parks Foundation has provided more than $10 million to support and improve our parks. Our staff and board work closely with the parks department to determine where your contributions will have the most benefit.
